SupplyScape Executive Receives Person of the Year Award from EPCglobal Inc™

Lucia Deus honored for outstanding contributions to the development of EPCglobal Drug Pedigree Messaging Standard

Woburn, Mass. -- SupplyScape Corporation, the leading provider of value chain software to drive maximum business value and product security in the pharmaceutical supply chain, today announced that vice president of product development Lucia "Lucy" Deus has received a 2007 Person of the Year award from the GS1 EPCglobal's Software Action Group (SAG). The award was announced at the EPCglobal Joint Action Group (JAG) Meeting in Paris, France on Wednesday, June 20.

Deus was selected to receive this award for her role as editor of the Drug Pedigree Messaging Standard. In this critical role, she collaborated with other leaders in the working groups and participants from across the supply chain. Because of her commitment and untiring devotion to the task, the new standard was developed and ratified in just over a year, which is considered lightning speed for any open industry standard.

"Lucy's technical expertise and SupplyScape's contribution of its intellectual property were crucial factors in the rapid development and ratification of the Drug Pedigree Messaging Standard," said Chris Adcock, president of EPCglobal Inc." We commend Lucy for her leadership, dedication, and service in making the Drug Pedigree Standard a reality."

The EPCglobal Drug Pedigree Messaging Standard defines a standard format for a pedigree message that meets all current Federal and State Pedigree requirements. These include California's electronic pedigree law, as well as all state pedigree laws and regulations and the federal Prescription Drug Marketing Act (PDMA). The standard was ratified in January of this year and represents the only standard approved for the open, interoperable exchange of drug pedigrees.

Deus' recognition as Person of the Year is the second major EPCglobal honor accorded SupplyScape in recent weeks. On June 6, SupplyScape received a first-in-industry EPCglobal certification status for its E-Pedigree™ solution. These developments underscore the significant commitment that SupplyScape has made to support the development and adoption of EPCglobal standards. SupplyScape's leadership within EPCglobal and the pharmaceutical industry is also reflected in its active participation in the Track & Trace, Supply Chain Integrity, EPCIS, Serialization, and RFID standards working groups.

"I want to thank Lucy for two years of tremendous collaboration and leadership on the Drug Pedigree Standard," said Jack DeAlmo, former VP Inventory Management & Merchandise Operations, CVS and former Tri-chairman of the EPCglobal Healthcare and Life Sciences (HLS) Industry Action Group (IAG). "Standards are critical for driving interoperability across the pharmaceutical value network of trading partners."

As vice president of product development, Deus works with customers to help them develop their supply chain security strategies. Drawing on a deep knowledge of drug distribution processes, state and federal regulatory expertise, and extensive experience in technology interoperability and document security, she works with customers to identify options and recommendations best suited to their technical, operational and business needs. She is a 15-year technology leader, having directed the development of global distributed business applications for Seagate Technologies, Morgan Stanley, and MITRE Corporation.
