Cardinal Health Veteran Dirk Rodgers Joins SupplyScape as Director of Industry Standards

SupplyScape Taps EPCglobal Leader to Drive Standards Initiatives

Woburn, Mass., May 21, 2007 -- SupplyScape Corporation, the leading provider of supply chain software to drive maximum business value and security in the pharmaceutical supply chain, today announced the appointment of Dirk Rodgers as director of industry standards. Rodgers, who most recently was responsible for developing Cardinal Health's enterprise electronic pedigree strategy, will draw on more than 20 years of supply chain and pharmaceutical operations technology experience to direct SupplyScape's industry standards initiatives.

Since its inception, SupplyScape has been committed to industry standards. The company's experts conceived the pharmaceutical industry serialization model, invented the self-authenticating ePedigree model, and created the open universal ePedigree messaging format. In 2005, the company contributed its pedigree format specification to the EPCglobal standard initiative. The addition of Mr. Rodgers further cements SupplyScape's leadership in EPCglobal EPCIS, Track & Trace, Serialization, RFID, and ePedigree standards definition activities, and reinforces the company's commitment to industry standards adoption.

"Dirk Rodgers was instrumental in ensuring that we created a standard that was right for the industry - one that was ready technically, met user requirements, and would willingly be adopted by all industry segments," said Eli B. Perlman of TIBCO Software Health Sciences Industry Group, and co-chair of the EPCglobal Drug Pedigree Messaging and NCPDP's RFID/Auto-ID Working Groups. "The result of Dirk's perseverance was the unanimous approval of a Drug Pedigree standard that will benefit the industry and be the foundation for work in other standard organizations."

The GS1 EPCglobal Drug Pedigree Messaging Standard represents a major milestone for the pharmaceutical industry. It details the format for a pedigree and addresses the requirements of all state and federal drug pedigree laws in the United States.

Over the past five years, Mr. Rodgers has spearheaded numerous EPCglobal standard work groups, made up of industry stakeholders and solution providers. In addition to his role as co-chairman of the EPCglobal Software Action Group (SAG) Drug Pedigree Messaging Working Group, Rodgers serves as co-chair of the Drug Pedigree Messaging Joint Requirements Group (JRG), co-chairman of the Healthcare and Life Sciences (HLS) Track & Trace Working Group, and is an active member in the HLS Information, Process, and Serialization work groups.

"Dirk's industry expertise and EPCglobal stewardship experience, combined with SupplyScape's adoption leadership, will translate into more standards that address industry needs," said Peter Spellman, senior vice president of products and Software-as-a Service (SaaS) at SupplyScape. "Dirk's continued presence in these evolving standards efforts will help ensure their viability for the industry."

Rodgers has spent more than 20 years as a technology and operations strategist in pharmaceutical supply chain collaboration and systems integration. He joins SupplyScape from Cardinal Health, one of the "big three" pharmaceutical wholesalers, where he was a senior systems architect for supply chain solutions. Rodgers was responsible for developing Cardinal Health's enterprise ePedigree strategy, and he was also the IT lead architect on Cardinal's groundbreaking industry RFID pilots. Prior to Cardinal Health, Rodgers held senior engineering positions at Professional Control Corporation, a systems integrator of distribution center automation systems, where he managed development projects for automated shipping and pharmacy prescription drug return systems. He holds a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

"I am very excited about working for SupplyScape, a company driving the transformation of the pharmaceutical value chain, where I can apply my technology and operations experience in this new role," said Dirk Rodgers, director of industry standards at SupplyScape.
